Huntsman Singapore is now looking for a dynamic individual as a Logistics Supervisor. Provide supervision on logistics operation and fulfil desired department duties on time and in an efficient manner. Logistics supervisor reports into and receives guidance and direction from Supply Chain Manager, Singapore. Logistics supervisor works with Commercial Managers and Sales Managers and customer service department to ensure smooth order process and delivery to customers. The candidate would play a leader role in the team.
Team Leader’s role includes:
Responsible for the effective and timely Distribution & Transportation management within the logistics team
Ensure customers/internal department are responded to promptly and professionally
Responsible to ensure continue improvements with the logistics team
Ensure adherence to SOX controls and other Huntsman standards
Ensure effective contract management with suppliers and logistics providers
The ideal candidate will be located in Singapore.
As a Logistics Supervisor you will:
To support set up and implementation of Huntsman & local EHS regulatory requirements, emergency response systems standards and procedures for internal logistics (incl. Warehouse) and external logistics operations in line with agreed customer service standards
To supervisor daily logistics operations including outbound and inbound deliveries, technical logistics, fleet (isotank) supervision and warehouse activities in co-operation with Supply Chain Manager
To manage the performance of import & export related LSPs. (e.g. DSV, forwarding service, port handling, Customs agent, trucking company etc.) and set up procedures/WI to ensure the smooth daily operation in order to achieve logistics target
To investigate for import & export logistics service-related complaints from external and internal customers, work out corrective & preventive actions and ensure the effectiveness and timeliness of these actions
To provide monthly reports for the agreed logistic KPI’s and based on the analysis of those to support continual improvement of 3rd party logistical service providers
Support other logistics initiatives assigned by line manager to support the continuous improvement of logistics operation
Ensure effective contract management for Singapore vendors
Manage and execute contracts to maximize operations and financial performance
Constant review of SG contracting strategy
Team Management &Development
Build a highly motivated Singapore Logistics team and have the best in class Logistics operation
Ensure that all team members are adequately trained on the companies IT systems and related process
Develop talents and retain as necessary
Participate where necessary in ISO and quality process to ensure procedures and working instructions are properly followed
Ensure Logistics activities are fully compliance in ISO, SOX, EHS, legal etc
Ensure that all customer will received all their product’s MSDS/PDS and keep a clear records and filing of the customer’s receipt confirmation
Bear in mind and remind others among teams that E&HS is the first priority during daily activities
For foreign trade, understanding of Denial Party, Trade Embargo, and Regulatory is a must. And get help form EHS when necessary
What skills and experiences are we looking for?
4 years university degree or above, preferably major in Chemical/ Trade/ Finance
Minimum 5 years relevant experience, 2 year team management experience, 2 years in contract negotiation role
High sense of responsibility, proactive attitude and independent, good interpersonal skills, communications skills, good English writing & speaking, high PC skills especially in MS Office
The jobholder must have a detailed understanding of their stakeholders and be fully aware of their requirements, needs and order patterns. In addition, the jobholder must proactively contact stakeholders in order to ensure that stakeholders needs are fully met
The jobholder must also have a solid knowledge of our internal organization, specifically around people, processes, technology and products, as well as our routes to market
Its essential that the job holder has experience working in an Multi-National Company of similar nature
IT skills become more and more important in a changing business environment (SAP, Navigator, Intranet, Internet based applications and channels to market etc)
Besides his/her own mother tongue, a good knowledge of the English language is essential in order to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
Excellent communication skills to effectively deal with internal and external customers
Job holder needs to be stress tolerant to deal with varying workload and potential problems or Customer issues
Expected to perform in a fast-paced environment
Required to have detailed understanding of contract management, and performance management of vendors/suppliers
Able to adapt to dynamic environment of changing customer requirements
Able to deal with ambiguity in terms of current business processes and proposed new standards
Need good influencing skills in order to achieve sustainable results
